Patton Block Grill & Brewpub

Project Brief

The Patton Block Brew Pub in Monmouth, IL included a client team that consisted of a chef, a dentist/brewer, a chemistry professor/brewer, a bank president and an accountant. The client’s wanted to bring a restaurant and brewery concept to their small town’s square but needed help navigating the design process to make sure the kitchen, bar and dining rooms were functional and up to current building codes. The historic building posed unique challenges but studioK was able to help make the most of the limited space. We worked thoughfully with the head chef to ensure all of the equipment he required would fit and that the flow of the kitchen would allow for efficiency. The brew pub needed to be casual yet classic and the owner’s had specific ideas of the finishes and fixtures they wanted to use and were very hands on in the process. We were able to help them navigate the overwhelming process of selecting and sourcing products to complete the look of the interior. We provided them with renderings throughout the design process to help them envision the transformation of the interior and exterior space.
